Community Care for Climate Resilience
Let’s find resiliency together through local action and connection. Join us at Milk Thistle for a day of community care for climate resilience. Throughout the day we will sit with climate grief through meditation, flower essence, and crafts. Then we will work to transfer this anxiety and grief into something that is bearable, useful and meaningful through discussion on local action we can take to build resilience and hope. Lastly we will end the day with a casual afternoon tea and chat about herbs for climate resilience.

Vegan Lunch and Climate Hope and Action Discussion sign up
This event sign up is for the lunch and discussion portion of the day from 12-2. Full schedule (above) is all drop-ins welcome. For lunch, we will join together for a vegan meal catered by Christian @savagefoods. The cost for this lunch and discussion combo is $20 to go towards your meal. If you would like to join just for the discussion, you can select that free option, but don’t miss out on this tasty meal from a lovely local vegan chef!
Discussion will be facilitated by Anna, a Milk Thistle herbalism student, shop witch, certified california naturalist and california climate steward. We will connect with our emotions on climate change and then move through discussions touching on these potential topics:
our unique desert ecosystem
conservation efforts in the desert
restoration through listening to native stewards of this land
local volunteering opportunities
climate benefits of moving towards a plant based diet
resilient gardening/landscaping
Composting & waste reduction
resource sharing
Current actions to take to support recovery from recent fires in LA area
proactive community preparation for future local climate disruption (heat, floods, fire, etc).
<insert your question, topic, story, action here>*
Yes that’s a lot of potential topics, yet we will see where the conversation goes. This is not a lecture and deeply encourages everyone to come with their emotions, experiences, knowledge and calls to action to the table. Come join the climate conscious community & conversation.
*If you would like to suggest topics ahead of time or discuss anything related to this event beforehand, you are welcome to email annadining@gmail.com . Otherwise bring the topics, stories etc. on Feb 2nd
